Dr. Collins Okonkwo is a researcher with interests in good governance, development, federalism and political violence. He has published peer-reviewed research papers in both national and international academic journals. He has demonstrable experience in academic administration, evaluation and verification.
Okonkwo had his undergraduate education at Babcock University, Nigeria where he became the first student to graduate with a First Class in Political Science. He got a scholarship from Coventry University, United Kingdom towards his Master’s degree in International Relations with a specialization in African Governance and Security. Collins has a PhD in Comparative Politics from Igbinedion University Okada.
Okonkwo served as a research assistant for his undergraduate project supervisor, Professor Emeritus Bayo Adekanye. He has also served as the Lead Researcher for the St. Peter’s Centre Coventry, UK on a project tagged “Engaging the Roma Community”. The project has helped to inform the St Peter’s Centre about how best to engage with the Roma community from 2013 onwards. He is currently a Lecturer at the Department of Political Science at Igbinedion University.
Okonkwo has a history of volunteering and community organizing. He also runs a passion project called ‘Hustler Diary’ where he interviews and shares the stories of small-scale Nigerian entrepreneurs.
